This is the only known photograph of the Matanzas rubber station, managed by Armando Normand for the Peruvian Amazon Company during the Putumayo genocide. Between 1907-1910 the reported population of enslaved indigenous workers at Matanzas dropped from 5,000 to around 200 people.
