“The story of Aquiléo Torres” as written by Roger Casement. Near the end of 1906, Torres was imprisoned by agents of the Peruvian Amazon Company and pressured into employment with the aforementioned company. He drowned on Christmas Day in 1910, a month after Casement’s mission to the Putumayo River.
