In May 2024 the bodies Alphonsine Leuga and her disabled teenage daughter Loraine Choula were found at their home almost four months after their 999 emergency call was ignored. Loraine, dependent entirely on her mother, died of malnutrition and dehydration weeks after Alphonsine's death.
