40 years ago, on 13 November 1985, volcano Nevado del Ruiz erupted in Armero, Columbia. These haunting images of Colmbian girl Omayra Sánchez Garzón, aged 13 and trapped in the rubble of a landslide caused by the eruption before she died, became famous around the world.
