The Head Maid/Seedbed is the Nemesis of the hotel dwelling roach - forever preventing him breeding the seedbeds in *his* hotel. So, when invited over by Chiaki on Christmas Eve to "open a present early" he ignored his survival instincts and went anyway. Goodwill to all men! (and roaches!)
